Visa-Free Transit Options
U.S. citizens may be eligible for visa-free transit under certain conditions:
240-Hour (10-Day) Visa-Free Transit
- Applies when transiting through China en route to a third country/region.
- Permits stays of up to 240 hours (10 days) in designated cities and regions.
- Available at specific ports of entry across 24 provinces .To qualify, travelers must:
- Hold a valid passport from an eligible country (including the U.S.).
- Have confirmed onward tickets to a third country (not returning to the original departure country).
- Enter and exit through designated ports.
(We suggest US Citizens arrive and depart from Hong Kong in this case. If you wish to stay in China to travel after this program, you can travel to Hong Kong from Shenzhen (takes less than 1 hour) and enter Mainland China again. In this way you can stay for another 10 days. )
